Bookmarx vs XSaved

By Rahul ChoudharyUpdated

Bookmarx and XSaved both help you return to saved X posts, but their capture and reading workflows differ. XSaved is no longer accurately described as desktop-only: its current site lists an iPhone app alongside the Chrome extension.

What to evaluate in XSaved

The Chrome extension is free and includes folders, notes, tags, search, and export. The iPhone app has a paid Pro tier with additional discovery features. Data stays on the device by default; creating an account and enabling sync changes that arrangement. Check the specific version and configuration you will use rather than assuming all data always stays local.

Test the workflow on your actual devices. Save representative material, return later, and verify that the source, your organization, and anything you need to take out are still usable. Make an independent backup when a collection matters to you.

What to evaluate in Bookmarx

Bookmarx uses the official X API without a browser extension. After connection and sync, it offers summaries, collections, Brainy questions, and reading decks. Its installable PWA is a web application, not a native iPhone app. Try the saved-reading workflow if your main problem is never returning to useful posts.

The tradeoffs are material: Bookmarx does not migrate a historical archive or export your library. Sync and AI use depend on available allowances, and deck generation spends credits. AI-generated information should be checked against the original source.

Choose by the task

Consider XSaved when browser-based organization, a native iPhone option, or library export is important. Consider Bookmarx when reading and working with new synced saves inside Bookmarx is the task. Neither an install button nor a free extension proves that every platform has the same capabilities.

The Bookmarx plans above use the live catalog. XSaved's current site separates its free Chrome extension from iPhone Pro. Check its current offer and renewal terms rather than comparing a desktop free tier with a different mobile purchase.

XSaved's official product page and FAQ were checked on October 4, 2026. This is a comparison of documented capabilities, not a hands-on performance benchmark. Bookmarx publishes this page and is one of the products discussed.
